Team Stories

  • Describe the work you do for ZWS…

For the last year and half at Zero Waste Solutions I have been responsible for overseeing all operations and maintenance at two Land Ports of Entry. We keep these facilities in top notch condition by having a traffic of people, who give their 100% everyday, managing different aspects of operations onsite. Alongside our onsite staff, our wonderful corporate staff all the way in California support all of our daily needs.

What do you like about working for ZWS?

I personally enjoy being faced with challenges and developing solutions that meet the expectation of the various entities I work with. I thoroughly enjoy ZWS’ attitude when it comes to getting things accomplished. I also believe that ZWS continues to have a perspective regarding customer service that I have very easily adopted as my own.

Zero Waste Solutions appears to have their priorities straight, they always put their customers first, which leads me to believe that this company will continue to be very successful. Many other companies these days fall into a trap of self-preservation consequentially destroying the trust which is the foundation of a good customer to contractor relationship.

  • Describe the work you do for ZWS.....

When we start a new contract, I spend time onsite with the new customer to understand their wants and needs, so that ZWS can set up an operation that will work best for them. No two contracts are the same and you have to set up each location to fit their specific needs.

I also work with operations to set up training for the site personnel that focuses on the 3R’s of resource management; Reduce, Reuse, & Recycle. We find training to be crucial to increase the amount of waste that can be diverted from landfill.

Once the contract is up and running, a key part of my work is then to research and find new methodologies and technologies that we can introduce into our operations to help improve the service that we offer to our customers.

  • Describe the work you do for ZWS…

As a resource management strategist, my objective is to enhance our client's resource management approach to achieve a zero-waste-to-landfill goal. My approach involves exploring innovative waste minimization methods, determining ways to reuse any remaining material, and finding options for recycling the remaining waste.

In addition, it is crucial for me to make sure that our team comprehends the significance of our zero-waste philosophy. By educating them about the importance of our purpose and the environmental benefits of this approach, we can instill a greater sense of pride and ownership in their work.

What do you like about working for ZWS?

Our team is incredibly diverse. Everyone has a different background and I love that this allows us to gain a greater knowledge and understanding of different cultures.
