Waste Analysis

A waste analysis (also called a waste sort) is the first step in developing a waste reduction plan; .it provides information on how much paper, plastic, food waste, etc., is currently being discarded with your waste, and it provides data required in order to help select the most productive and cost-effective waste reduction and recycling programs.

 
  Approximately 6-7 million tons of solid waste is landfilled in the Bay Area annually. Data indicates that the commercial/business sector generates about half of the state's waste. The following pie chart shows the results of a waste analysis of the commercial waste stream
